PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an axially asymmetrical face on a lens by arranging a means oscillating a cutting tool along an oscillation axis when the cutting tool is moved along a predetermined path by means of a movable bed means. SOLUTION: For arranging a cutting tool 29 to a workpiece 32 properly, an angle direction of the cutting tool 29 is preferably shifted to a tool holder 24. A tool holder supporting housing 26 includes an oscillation mechanism which is installed in the inside so as to reciprocate the tool holder 24 forward/ backward. An oscillation shaft 48 is directed at a slanting angle a to a rotary shaft 33. When the oscillation shaft 48 is offset by an angleαfrom the rotary shaft 33, a distance corresponds a stroke required for attaining its outline. In short, the oscillation shaft 48 is oscillated to the angle making a right angle to the lens face in which axial asymmetry is required ideally.
