PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the work time and improve efficiency by nonmanually measuring the distance between the expected arrangement points of members such as struts, preparing a drawing based on the distance, and sending it to a steel product supplier. SOLUTION: H-steels 3a, 3b are provided on a wall face 1 as wales, and a laser range finder 5 is fitted to the H-steel 3a. A point 7 is provided on the H-steel 3b for measuring the length of a member to be installed, the point 7 is collimated by the laser range finder 5, and the distance L3 is measured and the tilt angleθis read out. L2 is obtained from L2=L3 costθ, and the length L4 of the member is obtained from L4=L1+L2. The obtained 14 is sent to a steel product supplier via a personal computer and the radio unit of a transceiver installed at the site, and the steel product supplier prepares a distribution drawing based on the sent data.
