PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a four-piece solid golf ball improved in a carry while the excellent feeling at the time of impact is maintained. SOLUTION: The center 1 of the four-piece solid golf ball consisting of a four-layered structure composed of the center 1, intermediate layers 5 which are formed on the center 1 and consist of two layers; an inside layer 2 and an outside layer 3 and a cover 4 which coats these intermediate layers 5 has a diameter of 30 to 35 mm. The inside layer 2 and outside layer 3 of the intermediate layers have a thickness of 0.5 to 2.5 mm. The hardness of the inside layer 2 of the intermediate layers is higher than the hardness of the center. The cover 4 has a thickness of 1.0 to 3.0 mm and Shore D hardness of 62 to 72.
