<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic waste treating apparatus which has high decomposition efficiency by keeping the pH of fermenting materials in a fermentation tank within a suitable range and which gives composts with high quality. SOLUTION: This organic waste treatment apparatus comprises a fermentation tank 1 of which the inside is divided into a plurality of sections to successively transport organic wastes thrown to one section of the fermentation tank 1 to another section by overflow and a stirring means and a heating means installed in the fermentation tank 1 to ferment the organic wastes by aerobic microbe while heating and stirring the wastes and convert the wastes into composts. In this apparatus, a means to supply a powder or granular pH adjusting agent is installed in the fermentation tank 1, so that the pH of the fermenting wastes is kept within a suitable range. Practically, the means receives signals from a pH measuring means 21 and a weight sensor 14, determines the amount of the pH adjusting agent to be added and the time duration for addition, and transmits the determined signals to a pH adjusting agent supplying means 29 to supply a proper amount of the pH adjusting agent to the fermentation tank 1.</p> |
