PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder for supplying a recording sheet and efficiently feeding the sheet by omitting a time of consuming for movement of a carrier in the step of conveying the sheet from an automatic feeder to a sheet feeding mechanism. SOLUTION: When a gear change lever 5 is pressed to a frame 30 side by a protrusion 2 by movement of a carrier 1, a coupling support 13 and gears 10, 11 are moved to the frame 30 side. In this case, a driving force of a motor is transmitted to a suction pump of a nozzle recovery unit via gears 16, 17, and the pump is operated. When the protrusion 2 and the lever 5 are moved to a position where they are not brought into contact by the movement of the carrier 1, the support 13 is pressed by a change spring 9, and the support 13 and gears 10, 11 are moved to a frame 29 side. In this case, the force of the motor is transmitted to an automatic sheet feeding mechanism via gears 27, 24, 20, 21 to operate the feeding mechanism. |
