The wheels of the mower are driven by a motor with a stepless variable hydrostatic transmission, which has a drive shaft projecting outwards to be coupled to the driven wheel. A release mechanism (13) uncouples the transmission from the motor. A non-rotating gear wheel is joined to the drive shaft. A swing arm can be moved between an active position, where it engages with and blocks the gear wheel in order to prevent the shaft rotating and lock the driven wheel, and a passive position where it is released from the gear wheel. A control stick (14) is used to move the swing arm between first and second positions in order to move the arm into an active or passive position. Movement of the control stick from its first position to its second position is possible only if the release mechanism has uncoupled the transmission from the motor. |
