PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating material which is effective in preventing iron structures from rusting and in preventing fire from spreading and is excellent in resistances to heat, acids, and alkalis by mixing solns. of a chlorinated rubber, a liq. urethane resin, a chlorinated paraffin, and a phenol resin, each in a mixed solvent comprising MEK, acetone, and DMF. SOLUTION: A solvent comprising 30-50 wt.% MEK, 30-50 wt.% acetone, and 10-30 wt.% DMF is prepd. in advance. A chlorinated rubber soln. comprising 500 cc of the solvent and 500 g of a chlorinated rubber, a urethane resin soln. comprising 40 cc of the solvent and 20 cc of a liq. urethane resin, a chlorinated paraffin soln. prepd. from a soln. comprising 100 cc of the solvent and 100 g of a powdery chlorinated paraffin and a soln. comprising 20 cc of the solvent and 40 cc of a liq. chlorinated paraffin, and a phenol resin soln. comprising 100 cc of the solvent and 50 g of a phenol resin are mixed under stirring together with other necessary additives to give a clear oil-base noncombustible coating material. 100 cc of this clear coating material is further mixed with 50 cc of the solvent, 50 g of a colored pigment, and a dispersant under stirring to give a colored oil-base noncombustible coating material. |
