PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball having a good ball hitting feed and controllability and having excellent repulsive performance and flying performance by incorporating a thermoplastic elastomer having an acrylic resin in a hard segment and an olefinic resin in a soft segment at a prescribed ratio into the resin components for the entire cover. SOLUTION: The cover of the golf ball consisting of a core and the cover formed on the core contains 5 to 100 wt.% thermoplastic elastomer having the acrylic resin as the hard segment and the olefinic resin as the soft segment with respect to the resin components for the entire cover. The mixing in the prepn. of such resin compsn. for the cover is usually executed by using a kneading type twin-screw extruder or internal mixer, such as Bambury mixer or kneader, and executing heating and mixing for 0.5 to 15 minutes at 150 to 260 deg.C. Dimples are formed at need on the ball surface at the time of molding the cover and the cover is subjected to paint finishing, stamping, etc., at need after the molding of the cover. |
