Electronic countermeasure device in target tracking radar systems susceptible to orthogonal polarisation noise

The device has an additional receiver system consisting of an antenna (18) following the target following radar antennae (1-4) and a receiver circuit (10,19-24) for measuring the polarization of the electromagnetic field received by the target following radar antennae. An evaluation circuit (25) triggers an orthogonal polarization alarm if the polarization measured by the additional receiver system is at least approximately orthogonal to the transmission polarization of the target following radar.
