<p>PURPOSE:To provide an improved means which detects the quantity of collected particulates by using electric waves and to provide a filter renovator which guarantees the renovation performance of a filter and secures the durability of the filter, concerning the filter renovator which collects the particulates in the exhaust gas of a diesel engine. CONSTITUTION:There are constituted an exhaust pipe 13, a heating chamber 14, a filter 15 stored in the heating chamber, a microwave generating means 16, which generates microwaves supplied to the heating chamber, and electric field detecting means 22 and 23, which detect the intensity of the microwave electromagnetic field arising in the heating chamber provided downstream of the exhaust gas of the filter. The quantity of particulates collected in the filter is detected with high accuracy and also renovates the filter.</p> |
