<p>The invention is about the production of ceramic foam filters. In the invention foam filters are produced: Case 1. From an open cell flexible or non flexible foam material inserted in a mold on a centrifugal casting machine where ceramic slip enters the mold under centrifugal force. Case 2a. From partly expanded spherical polystyrene beads packed in a mold on a centrifugal casting machine where ceramic slip enters the mold under centrifugal force. Case 2b. From partly expanded spherical polystyrene beads packed in a stationary or vibrating mold where ceramic slip enters the mold from a reservoir at the top. In all cases the end of the molds where aqueous part of the ceramic slurry leaves are closed either by a filter paper or by a gypsum plate.</p> |
