<p>A massaging apparatus always permitting ready reclining operation and provided with a base for supporting its seat and chair back, wherein the chair back pivots on the base, can freely turn within a limited range of angles around the pivot, and houses a massaging mechanism provided with a treating element, which massages the user. On the both sides of the seat and the chair back extend a pair of arm rests supported by the base. This massaging apparatus has a reclining mechanism for either holding the chair back in a certain position around the pivot within the range of angles or permitting it to turn around the pivot and a handle connected to the reclining mechanism for activating the mechanism to permit the chair back to turn. This handle is arranged in a position higher than the seat and on the under face of one of the arm rests. This constitution allows the handle to be positioned within the reach of the user even when the chair back is inclined, and thereby facilitates the reclining operation. Furthermore, since the handle is provided on the under face of the arm rest, it cannot be inadvertently operated when it is out of use.</p> |
