Reducing harmful gas concentration in mixture from pyrotechnic gas generator

Reduction of harmful gases in gas mixtures from pyrotechnic reactions comprises using additive(s) (I), selected from metallocenes, urea and/or their derivatives, sulphur and/or sulphur compounds, that vaporise at the temperature reached in the pyrotechnic reaction and convert the harmful gases to non-toxic compounds in a homogeneous gas phase reaction. Also claimed are a composition containing gas-generating substance and (I) and a device for pyrotechnic gas generation, in which (I) is added to the operating gas stream.
