<p>An axial flow hair dryer (10) comprises a main housing (20) and an outer duct (24) secured thereto with outer duct (24) axis coincident with the main housing (20) axis and with the axial air outlet (27) of the main housing (20) disposed within the outer duct (24) to form an annular air intake (26) between the main housing (20) and the outer duct (24). A first fan stage (100) and first stator stage (150) are disposed within the main housing (20) and a second fan stage (200) and second stator stage (250) disposed within the outer duct (24). A handle depending from the main housing (20) holds a motor (36) mounted using vibration-absorbing material to inhibit the propagation of noise generated by the motor (36). Resistance heating wires (70) are wrapped around the vanes of the first stator stage (150) to heat the air flowing through the air dryer (10).</p> |
