Apparatus for hardening inner contour of weapon barrel by laser radiation

The apparatus serves for hardening the inner contour of a barrel (1) of a weapon by laser radiation. It includes a laser (12) and a laser head (10) which is movable along the barrel axis (4), and is provided with an optical system (17) serving for beam deflection. As a result, laser radiation is directed perpendicular to the inner surface (5) of the barrel. The laser (12) is a Nd:YAG laser which is connected to the laser head (10) by means of an optical fibre. The laser head is centred at the barrel end (8), and is attached to a bar (3) which is movable along the barrel axis (4).
