The invention relates to a method and device for thermal disposal of gasifiable waste materials using a thermal process generator. The aim of the invention is to improve the process of gasifying the waste material, especially the starting part of the process. To this end, the burnable gas is temporarily stored as treated burnable gas (270) or separately as untreated burnable gas (280), and the treated burnable gas (270) is heated and/or filtered until it has the necessary burning quality for reuse. The thermal disposal of the gasifiable waste materials (100) is carried out using a thermal process reactor (50) which has air supply openings (2). A prism-shaped support grid (3) is provided beneath the air supply opening (2) in said thermal process reactor (50) and a separating unit for separating solid residues of the burnable gas is located below the support grid (3), said separating unit having a conduit (7) for the burnable gas. A burnable gas aftertreatment unit (8) is also connected to said conduit (7).
