The servo system has a drive that has a motor coupled to transmission and converts a rotary motion into a linear motion using a non linear transfer mechanism. The system has the output of the interpolator fed to a coordinate transformation unit that outputs line linear values 31 and these are summed with the output of a compensator 32. The compensator operates to a non linear second order equation.
