The cylinder has a device to prevent ink transfer from the printed sheet to the cylinders of the printing press. This device is an inverter (1) which preferably turns the printed sheet over to print it for the first time and repeatedly in one pass. After the sheet passes through the inverter, the printed side lies against the mantle surface (14). The whole of the printing cylinder (11) mantle surface (14) is covered with a barrier layer (15) of silicon rubber. The printing ink is mixed with a silicon oil.
