An optical interconnection arrangement comprises a plurality of substantially parallel optical interconnection channels (A-D). The source (16) and the receiver (17) share a common optical axis (20) and the first lens (18) and the second lens (19) are offset relative to such common optical axis (20). Such optical interconnection arrangements are tolerant of translational or rotational misalignments between the sources (16) and associated first lenses (18) on the one hand and the receivers (17) and associated second lenses (19) on the other hand, which is of particular advantage for free space optical interconnects or couplers.
