<p>A line-focus system (310) with a curved fluorescent bulb (400, 500, 600) for directing light from the curved fluorescent bulb (400, 500, 600) toward the scan line (314) in the line-focus system (310). The curved fluorescent bulb (400, 500, 600) is shaped in such a manner that the light intensity across the photosensor line array (316) in the line-focus system (310) is relatively uniform and the length of the light bulb (400, 500, 600) is shorter than the prior art.
