PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely position paper, by supporting a fixing lever which has a fixing nail detachable with a rack on a paper tray on a supporting pin which is placed near the bottom end of an edge guide with interval less than pitch of rack. SOLUTION: Near the bottom end of an edge guide 1, a fixing lever 3 which has a fixing nail 2 which engages with a rack 13 placed in a guide groove is supported on a supporting pin 5 in the condition that the lever is always energized in the direction engaging with the rack 13 by a spring 4. The fixing lever 3 is supported with clearance such that gapδless than pitch (p) of the rack 13 exists between the fixing lever 3 and the supporting pin 5. Thus, the paper back end edge guide 1 is more finely adjusted without being trapped by the pitch (p) of the rack 13. Therefore, in this paper tray, back end of the paper is precisely positioned by the edge guide 1.
