A pivot assembly for a door is housed in a bracket 18 connecting a stile 10 of the door to a rail 12 of the door. The bracket 18 is formed with side walls 32 defining a channel running parallel to the stile. The pivot assembly comprises a body member 42 slidably received in the channel, and a pivot 44 rotatably seated in the body member 42. The pivot 44 extends outwardly of an open end of the channel for engagement with the floor or ceiling. The body member 42 may further comprise a top part 48 adjustable in a direction perpendicular to the stile, and a base part 46 adjustable in a direction parallel to the stile. By making adjustments to the body member 42, the position of the pivot 44 relative to the door can be altered to facilitate correct fitting of the door. |
