A pre-cooked, deep frozen and packaged food product for omelette preparation comprises potatoes which have been peeled, cut, washed, fried in vegetable oil with salt addition, introduced into polyethylene packaging having a perforation or cutting line, hermetically sealed and then deep frozen without a temperature drop below -18 degrees C.
