MODIFIED OLEFIN (CO)POLYMER COMPOSITION AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified olefin (co)polymer composition and a process for producing the same, more particularly a modified olefin (co)polymer composition having a high melt tension and excellent moldability and a process for producing the same. SOLUTION: This composition is prepared by mixing 0.01-5.0 pts.wt. high- molecular-weight polyethylene being an ethylene homopolymer or an ethylene/ olefin copolymer containing at least 50 wt.% ethylene units and having an intrinsic viscosity [η] of 15-100 dl/g (as measured in tetralin at least 135 deg.C with 100 pts.wt. olefin (co)polymer other than the above high-molecular-weight polyethylene and 0.001-0.5 pts.wt. radical generator and melt-kneading the resulting mixture. It is desirable that the olefin (co)polymer other than the high-molecular-weight polyethylene is at least one member selected from among propylene homopolymers and propylene/olefin copolymers having a propylene unit content of 50 wt.% or above.
