PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transmission system with which transmission efficiency is improved without degrading the picture quality of fetched images. SOLUTION: When transmitting image information from a transmitting means 110 to a receiving means 120, the image information of low picture quality at low data rate and the image information of high picture quality component at high data rate are transmitted while being adaptively switched. Thus, for ordinary monitor picture display on a display means 123, the image information of low picture quality component at low data rate is transmitted and the important fetched images, which are instructed by an instructing means 124 during that monitor picture display, can be transmitted by the image information of high picture quality component at high data rate. |
