PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an offset rotary press for newspaper for facilitating preparations of phase matching of printing units between stacks and units and threading by freely regulating the phases of the units by a remote operation even during press operating, and omitting a conventional compensating unit. SOLUTION: The offset rotary press for newspaper comprises a phase regulator 12 associated with the press to phase-regulate by adjusting a rotating speed of a lateral shaft 7 with a phase regulating motor 16 of a drive source independent from a drive source of a plurality of printing units 6 group on the way of a power transmission means 9 for coupling the shaft 7 of a main drive shaft of the unit group to each unit as a relative phase change regulating means of the units 6.
