PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the particles of developer from being fused on a layer regulating member by frictional heat generated by contact and sliding when the developer is fused on the layer regulating member in the case of developing with non-magnetic one-component developer, that is, when the particles of the developer pass through an abutting part, and to restrain a phenomenon that the developer is stuck to a non-image part, what is called fogging, caused as the result of the fusion of the developer and scattering that the developer is splashed from a developing machine. SOLUTION: The non-magnetic one-component developer is supplied to a developing roller 5, the non-magnetic one-component developer layer is formed on the surface of the roller 5 by the layer regulating member 4, and charge is applied to the roller 5. Then, a photoreceptor drum 1 holding an electrostatic latent image is developed with the developer by potential difference between the drum 1 and the roller 5, and the developer is transferred to transfer material. At such a time, substance obtained by sticking the metallic salt particles of fatty acid to the surface of non-magnetic toner obtained by a suspension polymerization method is used in the non-magnetic one-component developer. |
