PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize a sign visually and distinctly by an automobile travelling in low beams by oppositely installing a reflecting plate to a light-emitting window, on which a light-transmitting sign member in the upper section of the box-shaped traffic sign is mounted, and a lighting window in a lower section. SOLUTION: A lighting window 2, to which a cover 11 is set up, is fitted to the lower section of the front of the box body 1 of the traffic sign, and a reflecting plate 31 is installed to the inside while being tilted backwards. A light-emitting window 3, on which a light-transmitting sign member 21 is mounted is set up to the upper section of the front of the box body 1, and a reflecting plate 32 is fitted to the inside while being oppositely faced to the reflecting plate 31. The greater part of light LF from an automobile travelling while directing a headlight to low beams enter from the lighting window 2 and are reflected by the reflecting plates 31, 32, and are transmitted through the sign member 21, and partial light is reflected by the front of the sign member 21, and is recognized visually by a driver distinctly. When the automobile travels in high beams, light is mainly reflected by the front of the sign member 21 while partial light LF is reflected by the reflecting plates 31, 32, transmitted through the sign member 21 and directed towards the automobile and recognized visually by the driver. |
