PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a common control of driving and to obtain the strength of a main beam by arranging two driving units of the same structure where beam driving jacks are provided between wall pressers and the main beam. SOLUTION: A main beam 14 is extended behind a mount 13 supporting a cutter head 12 rotatably, two driving units B, B' of the same structure are arranged in the main beam 14 in series. The driving units B, B' are composed of wall pressers 17 and beam jacks 23. The wall pressers 17 makes it possible to fix grippers 18b of driving rods 18a and press the grippers 18b to the internal wall of a tunnel by extending the wall pressing jacks 18. The boring machine is driver while pressing the grippers 18b of the front driving unit B and the rear driving unit B' to the sides of a tunnel wall alternately by extending and retracting the driving rod 23a of the beam jack 23. |
