PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording material suitable for both the formation of an ordinary image and the formation of an infrared radiation image. SOLUTION: This is related to a positive or negative radioactive ray sensitive mixture, a base material and a recording material having the mixture. This mixture contains a carbon block pigment on which a primary particle diameter is less than 80 nm as an IR absorbing component, and the carbon black pigment is predispersed in a polymer containing an acid unit on which pKa is less than 13. Preferably, a radioactive ray sensitive component is ester of a compound having a 1,2-naphthoquinone-2-diazide-4-sulfonic acid or a 1,2-naphthoquinone-2- diazide-5-sulfonic acid and at least one, preferably, three to six phenolic hydroxyl groups. After an image-like exposure is performed by radioactive rays, the recording material can be quite easily developed by an alkaline aqueous solution without leaving a residual covering in an area becoming soluble or an area being still soluble. |
