PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently cool and lubricate a cutting blade during the cutting, and improve the chip removing performance, by guiding the coolant to a groove in a chip seat, through a coolant hole inside of a shank, and injecting the coolant to the cutting blade along a flank of a throw-away chip, from an injection port formed on a part of the groove. SOLUTION: A button chip is mounted on a point edge part of a main body having a straight shank through a central mounting hole removably by a set screw and a clamp dowel. The first supply hole is made on the center of the main body, and is connected with the bottom face of the chip seat of the point edge part by the second supply hole 8. A coolant such as cutting liquid, compressed air or the like is injected from injection holes 10, 11 through a ring- shaped supply groove 9 of which an upper face is sealed when the button chip is mounted. The injection holes 10, 11 are respectively made on the positions at angles ofθ1 andθ1 +θ2 from the lowermost part of the chip, so that the coolant is injected toward the cut face in the cutting work. As the result of the cutting test, it is confirmed that the life of the tool is elongated about 1.5 times in comparison with a conventional one.
