PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time spent by a user for again operating a document scanning means properly by detecting the travel of the document scanning means and then moving the means to a prescribed detectable position. SOLUTION: A home position(HP) sensor 100 detects whether a document seat unit 90 is at HP or not. Also, a document seat travel detection sensor 101 detects whether the document seat unit 90 is moving or not. Furthermore, when the document seat travel detection sensor 11 does not detect the travel of a document scanning means under the operation of a drive means (optical motor) 102 for the actuation thereof and at the same time, when the drive direction of the optical motor 102 is along a direction for causing the HP sensor 100 to part from a prescribed detectable position, the optical motor 102 drives the document scanning means along a direction different from the immediately previous drive direction, and moves the document scanning means to the prescribed detectable position. |
