MIXED MATERIAL FOR PRODUCING HEAVY-WEIGHT CONCRETE AND PRODUCTION OF HEAVY-WEIGHT CONCRETE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a homogeneous mixed material for heavy-weight concrete excellent in workability by adding and mixing a cement paste, a fine aggregate, a coarse aggregate, a high water absorptive polymer and a fly ash in a specific ratio. SOLUTION: The mixed material consists of 100-900 pts.wt. fine aggregate, <=800 pts.wt. coarse aggregate, 0.005-2.00 pts.wt. high water absorptive polymer and 3.00-40.00 pts.wt. fly ash having <30μm particle diameter to 100 pts.wt. cement past having a water to cement ratio (W/C) of 0.4-1.0. The high water absorptive polymer improves mixing property of the aggregate or the like because of its ball-bearing like action and prevents the sedimentation due to the difference of a specific weight between the iron oxide based aggregate and cement by swelling with a lot of water to increase the viscosity. The fly ash has the same action as the high water absorptive polymer and simultaneously increases the strength of the hardened material heavy concrete by the pozzolan reactivity.
