PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide satisfactory blocking between PP films, good slidability of the PP film, excellent reliability and stable quality, by limiting the surface roughness Rmax of the PP film to a specified range and carrying out corona discharge on both sides of the PP film. SOLUTION: A pair of metallized PP films are wound or stacked to produce a metallized film capacitor, in which each of the PP films has a surface roughness Rmax of not less then 0.4μm, has corona discharge treatment layers provided on both sides thereof, and has an evaporated film electrode formed on its one side by vacuum evaporation of a metal such as zinc or aluminum. Specifically, metallized PP films 1 are wound or stacked to produce a capacitor element, in which each of the PP films 1 has a surface roughness Rmax of 0.4μm, has corona discharge treatment layers 4 provided on both sides thereof, and has an evaporated film electrode 3 formed on its one side by vacuum evaporation of zinc, aluminum, or an alloy of zinc and aluminum.
