PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flux-cored wire for welding stainless steel in which no defective welds such as slag inclusion caused by the non-melting of the filled flux are generated, the arc is excellent in stability, and the spatter is less generated in the gas-shielded metal arc welding of stainless steel. SOLUTION: The flux in which the slag material mainly consists of, by the weight % relative to the total weight of the wire, 1.5-3.5% SiO2 , 0.5-2.5% ZrO2 , and 0.5-2.5% TiO2 , the total of the slag composition in the flux is 6.5-9.5% relative to the total weight of the wire, and iron powder whose grain size is <=355μm, and whose content of particles of 150-297μm in grain size >=40% is contained by >=35% of the total weight of the flux, is filled in the stainless steel skin by 18-25%, and after the filling the wire is drawn by >=65% in the area reduction ratio.
