PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of the trouble in a boiler by a method wherein when heat synthesis gas from an ammonia converter flows through an annular part between an inlet tube and a heat-exchange tube, a quantity of heat is moved through indirect thermal conduction to boiling water to effect cooling. SOLUTION: Heat synthesis gas from an ammonia converter enters a gas inlet chamber 11 through a gas inlet 14 and enters a gas inlet chamber 11. The synthesis gas flows to the end part of a heat-exchange tube 3 through an inlet tube after the passage of it through the hole of a gas tube plate 5 and is returned to an outlet gas chamber 13 through an annular part at the inner side of a heat-exchange tube 3 at the outside of the inlet tube. The synthesis gas flows out from a boiler through the gas outlet nozzle 15. When the synthesis gas flows through an annular part between an inlet tube and a heat- exchange tube 3, a quantity of heat is moved through indirect conduction of boiling water to effect cooling. Thermal conduction of inlet gas flowing through the internal part of an inlet tube and gas flowing through the annular part is prevented from occurring by an insulation layer. |
