The invention deals with analogues of a vasoactive peptide VIP in which a carboxylic end of a side chain of one amino acid in the peptide chain is covalently connected to a carboxylic end of a side chain of another amino acid in the peptide chain thus forming an amid bond. A ring structure is formed as a result of a covalent connection between the two amino acid residuals in the peptide chain. A method for the preparation of the said peptides, which are useful for the treatment of bronchi-tracheal constrictions, is disclosed.
