The invention relates to a seat for a vehicle intended to move substantially in a forward direction (x). The seat is arranged to receive a person and comprises a seat face element (1), a backrest (2) and first means (3) which, when the vehicle receives a violent forward acceleration in said direction caused by a collision from behind are arranged to allow the backrest (2) to be displaced along a path of motion comprising a component directed forwards for at least an upper portion of the backrest (2). Furthermore the seat comprises second means which subsequently, when the force caused by said acceleration falls below a certain level in relation to the weight of said person and the backrest (2), are arranged to allow the backrest (2) to be folded back. |
