PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a substrate for a plasma display panel, which can materialize the plasma display panel where sealing can be applied to a front surface plate completely with ease, discharge space can be made uniform all over the surface of the substrate, and discharge voltage can be made constant, and the plasma display panel which is high in quality and reliability, and can keep the dispersion of the height from the substrate of each barrier rib at a value less than 5 μm, can be manufactured with ease while its mass production is well enhanced. SOLUTION: A substrate for a plasma display panel having each barrier rib whose dispersion of the height is less than 5 μm, each gap between resin patterns made over a substrate 1, and a barrier rib material 5 layer formed over each resin pattern, are ground in a wet manner by a belt sander type grinding wheel so as to allow each portion out of the barrier rib material 5 layer, which is higher beyond the height of the resin pattern to be removed, and the dispersion of the height is thereby made less than 5 μm. |
