1,052,151. Clamps. W. SCHNEIDER and R. SCHNEIDER [trading as W. SCHNEIDER & CO], Jan. 14, 1965 [Dec. 2, 1964], No. 1662/65. Heading E2B. A clamp comprises two resilient legs 1, 2 interconnected at one end by a web 3, each leg having an opening or recess 5, 6 to fit on to a stand 13, a bore 11 provided in the web 3 for receiving a pin 10, and a pair of clamp jaws 7, 8 which, when the legs are in a stressed state on the stand as shown and a pin is inserted through the bore in the web, engage the pin under pressure. As shown the jaws 7, 8 are integral with a web 9 secured to the web 3, and the leg 2 has a flange 4 which is engaged by the leg 1 when the legs are pressed together, so that the legs are then substantially parallel. and so easily assembled on, or removed from, the stand 13. In a second embodiment hooked plates form the jaws 7, 8 and these engage the pin 10 from the opposite sides to those shown. The hooked plates have bores through which the pin 10 passes with play. In these two embodiments the legs 1, 2 grip the stand 13 by their tendency to spring apart. In a third embodiment the legs grip the support by their tendency to come together and in this case the jaws are hooks secured to the legs. |
