A novel soda-lime-silica glass sheet contains 1-2.5 wt.% total Fe (expressed as Fe2O3) and 0.3-1 wt.% FeO and has an overall energy transmission factor (Te) of less than 55 (preferably less than 50)% at 1-1.9 mm thickness. Preferably, the glass has an FeO content which is 25-45% of the total Fe content (expressed as Fe2O3) and has an overall light transmission factor (TLA) of more than 70% and an UV transmission factor of less than 25% at 1-1.9 mm thickness. Also claimed is glazing consisting of two of the above sheets separated by an interposed organic (preferably ionomeric resin) foil, the glazing glass thickness being 1-1.9 mm. |
