ELECTROMAGNETICALLY OPERATED VALVE

An electromagnetically operable valve includes a housing, an annular magnetic co il positioned therein and a plunger of metallic material which is surrounded by the coil and reciprocatible in axial direction of the coil to and from a valve seat of the va lve. A sealing body of elastomeric material for the sealing of the valve seat is mounte d to a first end of the plunger adjacent the valve seat. The plunger and the sealing body ar e form fittingly interconnected to achieve a mechanical connection which obviates the u se of an adhesion promoter between the metallic and elastomeric materials. This leads to a simplified manufacture and reduced manufacturing costs.
