PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical element having a water-repellent treated film excellent in durability and capable of elongating the use period of a water- repellent agent by depositing a specified hydrogen type silicone oil to form the water-repellent layer. SOLUTION: This optical element is obtained by forming (A) a water-repellent layer having a contact angle of >=80 deg. with the deposited film of a hydrogen type silicone oil expressed by the formula [R is methyl, H; (a), (b) are each an integer satisfying the inequalities: 0<=(a)<=100, 1<=(b)<=200, 1<=(a)+(b)>=300] and having a kinetic viscosity of 1-100 cSt (25 deg.C). (B) The deposited film of a non-reactive silicone resin comprising a polyorganosiloxane having repeating units of RSiO3/2 (R is an alkyl, an aryl, etc.,) and terminated with (CH3 )3 SiO1/2 and having a number-average mol.wt. of 3000-200000 and a softening point of 60-150 deg.C may be formed in addition to the component A. Thereby, the uses of the optical element as a spectacle lens and a photographic lens can be expected. |
