This invention explains how sulfur-containing acid is produced in a hydrogen sulfur geothermal energy source produced as part of a geothermal process and introduced in aqueous liquid brine to diminish liquid brine pH. Brine diminished pH inhibits silica, metallic sulfur and/or calcite formation in geothermal energy procedure equipment surfaces or in underground formations in which brine is injected.
