The grille for the construction of a suspended false ceiling comprises parallel sections (2) with a reference axis (4) separated by struts (3) perpendicular to this axis. The section ends (2A) are joined by a cross member (7), parallel to the struts having a external flanges perpendicular to the grille plane. The distance (D) between the cross member and the strut is equal to the pitch between the struts. The cross member vertical web constitutes one of the grille edges and has a local cut-out in the thickness of the flange to form a fastening zone with the fixings (6). These fixings are constituted by an omega shaped section forming a clamp (8) gripping the vertical web between its jaws. The grill enables a continuity of the ceiling pattern to be obtained.
