Here is described a handsaw which comprises bows 2 between which is a bar 3 provided with support pins 4 and guide pins 10, also a saw blade 1 in both ends of which is fixed a stud 6 and a wire 8 by which the handsaw is tensioned when ready for use. According to the invention, the support pins 4 in bar 3 and the studs 6 in saw blade 1 slide in the bows 2, each in their own groove. When the support pins 4 in bar 3 and the studs 6 in saw blade 1 are concentric, the bows 2 turn and can be displaced into bar 3. At the same time, saw blade 1 also moves into the bow 2. By the application of this solution, the handsaw can be made far less bulky, while at the same time bar 3 will serve as a storage case for the handsaw. <IMAGE>
