Coupling between a pedal lever and rod that operates vehicle brake master cylinder

The coupling (1) is between a suspended brake pedal (1) and a rod (4) that operates the brake master cylinder. The rod has at its outer end, a fork (6) fitting on either side of the brake pedal lever. A pin (9) passes through holes in the ends of the fork and in the brake pedal lever. The pin is perpendicular to one end of a flat plate (11). The other end of this plate is shaped and has clips (10,10a) that fit over the edges of one side of the fork. A tab (14) on the outer end of the pin requires that the pin be at a particular angle to pass through a notch to one side of the holes in the fork and lever.
