A device for separating heavy impurities from pulp suspensions, and a separation means (2) for use in said device. The device comprises a casing (1) with inlet (7) for the pulp suspension at one end and outlet (8) at the other end and a stationary separation means (2). Inside the separation means a rotor (3) with vertical shaft (5) is located and provided with carrier means (6), and a treatment zone (4) is formed between the rotor (3) and separation means (2). The separation means (2) is formed with grooves (11), which form an angle of 0-45 DEG with the axial direction. The grooves (11) communicate downwardly with a reject chamber (9), which is shielded from the treatment zone (4). |
