SOLID POLYMER ELECTROLYTE AND ITS USE

A solid polymer electrolyte comprising an organic solvent containing a polymer, an electrolytic salt, ethylene carbonate and ethyl methyl carbonate, and, when desired, inorganic particles; and a lithium secondary battery made by using the electrolyte. The solid electrolyte has good moldability and strength, can be handled easily, and has a high ionic conductivity, a good stability, a long service life, excellent current characteristics, and excellent temperature characteristics over a wide temperature range including a low temperature range of -10 DEG C or below. The lithium secondary battery is excellent in safety, long-period reliability, and workability in addition to the above-mentioned characteristics.
