Jitter movement compensating system for focused image of e.g. hand-held binoculars

The jitter movement of a focused image is compensated by an arrangement of a first optical correction device (21) compensating for the movement of an image produced on a first optical axis (O1) of a telescope system and a second connection device (22) acting on a second optical axis (Or) of a second telescope system. The correction devices are held as a correction unit by a movable mounting device (20) which acts under a control system to move in a plane perpendicular to the optical axes. The mounting device is preferably located on the object side of an optical reversing system (41,42) of each of the telescope systems.
